Krystle Simmonds

Lover of real moments and lots of natural light. On a mission to capture your family’s connection at this very moment in time.

Hey! I’m so glad we’ve connected!

I’m assuming you came here to check out some of my photography work, and for that I thank you in advance! Choosing a photographer is as much about personal connection as it is about the art of photography (maybe more so!), so with that I thought I’d share with you just a little bit about me first…

My husband, Chris, and I got married in the summer of 2017 and we have called Blackfalds home ever since, which if you’re wondering, is about 10 minutes north of Red Deer, Alberta, along Hwy 2. In the summer, I look out my office window towards beautiful bright yellow canola fields; feels like I’m back on the farm (minus the street traffic… but I can look past that)!

Chris is a power engineer and works very close to home which I’m so thankful for! We enjoy traveling to hot places and doing lots of exploring (almost always with a camera in hand), camping, playing boardgames, and spending lots of time with family and friends doing the most random activities (like river floating and mini golf).  I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to do life with someone that supports all of my hobbies and dreams and always encourages me to take them further. Sometimes he even steps in as my second shooter so you might just get the opportunity to meet him!

Before settling down in Blackfalds, I lived in many different places for school and work: Camrose, Red Deer, Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Tofield, and Calgary, and like I mentioned earlier, if you are wondering about a shoot in any of those places (or anywhere else for that matter), I’m always up for a road trip! My educational background and work experience includes marketing, special events management, graphic design, and photography – all things creative!

My photography style is real & authentic. I give direction on posing when necessary but for the most part I step back and focus on the wonderful candid moments that naturally occur between you and the special people in your life! Oh, and I also LOVE working with natural light, A LOT!

Enough about me though, I’d really like to get to know you too! Drop me a line or send me an email – let’s catch up!
