This session was a surprise for Greg & Karen who celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary the day after our shoot! Such a thoughtful & fun gift from their kids. Their son & his wife live in Manitoba so it was also a surprise that they were out for the weekend to celebrate with the rest of the family.
Their kids had mentioned that it was very important that the session reflect them as a family and for that reason, they wanted to include their cows in the photos! I was so pumped to dabble in cattle photography but wondered how close we’d really be able to all get… well, they let us get very close & it was so much fun! I really love how they turned out. It was also neat to be able to shoot around the barn that stands just across the road in their Grandparents yard.
The best part of all for me? These fine folks are neighbours with my parents so we grew up together; they were just a short bike ride away! I was so honoured to document this milestone for them and to give them beautifully updated family photos to hang in their homes. It can be challenging to get everyone home at the same time and to also plan for a photo shoot together, but it is so worth it!
